Following the entry into force of the GDPR (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, please find below the most important information concerning the protection of your personal data.

2. Personal data will be processed only to the extent and purpose necessary to provide a Client with legal services and, where a contract has been signed, to handle a case under the contract.

3. The scope of processed personal data is strictly dependent on the circumstances of the case.

4. The legal basis for personal data processing is the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

5. The recipients of personal data will be entities authorised by law and entities which require personal data to carry out specific activities (e.g. execution of payment, bookkeeping, ecclesiastical institutions before which the case will be tried, etc.).

6. Given that, in accordance with the Canon Law regulations (can. 1643 of the Code of Canon Law), cases concerning the status of persons never become res iudicata, personal data will be stored until the Client’s death or contracting a new marriage by him/her under the requirements of the law of the Catholic Church (canonical marriage). A Client shall have the right to obtain the erasure, restriction of processing of personal data or to object to processing of personal data. Where a contract has been signed, the contract concluded between the Parties is immediately terminated by the Principal.

7. The Client shall have the right to access his/her personal data and obtain a copy thereof, including the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or object to the processing thereof, data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, i.e. the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection (POPDP).

8. The provision of personal data is voluntary, but necessary for the conclusion of the contract and provision of a legal service to the Client.

9. The Office does not make any automated decisions and the Client’s data are not profiled.

10. The Client shall have the right to withdraw the consent to process personal data at any time, but the withdrawal of the consent does not influence the lawfulness of processing that took place in accordance with the law prior to the withdrawal. Where a contract has been signed, the withdrawal of the consent to personal data processing shall simultaneously constitute termination of the contract by the Principal.

11. Please note that where personal data is processed for the purpose of legal service provision, a number of information obligations are waived.
